At least eight people died in today’s shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York. Two police officers told the AP on condition of anonymity. The alleged shooter has been detained and is in custody.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said on Twitter that she was “closely following” the shooting in her hometown. She offered to help the local authorities.
