Asked about the United Indonesia Coalition, Sandiaga Uno said this

Salatiga

The Golkar Party, PAN, and PPP have officially announced the formation of the United Indonesia coalition ahead of the 2024 General Election. Asked about this, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahudin Uno said that it was a dynamic of democracy.

“Of course the political elite will make their own choices and we must appreciate it, and become one of the realities of our democratic contestation,” he said during a visit to Kampung Singkong, Ledok, Argomulyo, Salatiga, Monday (16/5/2022).

Sandi stated that he is now focusing on his duties as Menparekraf. This is said to be in accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo.

“The direction from our President is very clear that ministers must focus because the election stage has started. The election stage has started, which means we have to complete our tasks according to the specified time,” he continued.

His party also admitted that they had never communicated with the leader of the party that initiated the United Indonesia Coalition. Sandi again said that at this time his party was focusing on his duties as a minister which was considered quite heavy.

“Until now there has been no (communication with the United Indonesia Coalition), I focus on my duties, my function as Menparekraf, the task is very difficult, well because the last survey of the economy is deteriorating, we must give the best we have and focus on our sector, tourism and creative economy,” he said.

He admitted that he did not want to lose the momentum to revive the creative economy sector. Because, now the creative economy is considered to be in the middle of a revival momentum.

“The creative economy has an increasing momentum, don’t let it happen because we are not focused, we lose momentum and this sector cannot recover,” he continued.
