Apple AR glasses reach milestone in development
Apple has, according to sources from The Information recently completed the prototype phase for the lenses of his upcoming AR glasses. The semi-transparent lenses, which augmented reality since May in the engineering validation testphase (EVT). This means that Apple is now working hard on tests to see if the alleged AR glasses and headset are ready for mass production.
The Information, on the other hand, says it may take another year or two for AR glasses or headsets to actually go into mass production. This is consistent with a recent rumor that Apple will announce an AR / VR headset next year. This disproves Jon Prosser’s prediction, who suggested that the Apple Glass would be released in late 2020.
Apple Glass and AR / VR headset in the making
According to the latest rumors, Apple is currently working on two AR devices, a headset and glasses. The headset may be unveiled next year, giving app developers time to prepare for launch through 2022. In the meantime, they can make applications for the special software that are possible glassOS is going to be called.
The headset reportedly features both augmented reality and virtual reality. The difference is that the first technique extends reality by placing a digital layer over it, think of Pokémon GO, while VR just conjures up a completely new digital world on your screen, like with a VR movie in the cinema.
Of Apple Glass becomes more stylish glasses that only have AR. This device is a lot smaller and only appears after the headset and probably not before 2023. So we have to wait a while and live temporarily with fairly vague predictions.
