governor Anies Baswedan showcase the progress of Jakarta in 50 years. The Director of Indonesian Political Parameters, Adi Prayitno, assessed that Anies was far from comparing the conditions in Jakarta in 1971 with 2021.
“Anies wants to show off that Jakarta has progressed differently from 1971 in terms of public facilities and infrastructure. It’s just a distance to compare Jakarta 1971 with 2021,” Adi told reporters, Monday (7/3/2022).
He considered that Anies should compare Jakarta’s progress with a closer era. For example, said Adi, with the conditions under the leadership of Joko Widodo (Jokowi) or Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) as governors of DKI Jakarta.
“Anies should have compared his performance achievements with the Jokowi era and the Ahok era. What is Anies’ more value than the two previous governors who were often compared,” said Adi.
Adi said Anies should show off Jakarta’s non-physical achievements that have been achieved in his era. Adi said Anies had criticized Jokowi-Ahok for being proud to be able to build physical facilities in Jakarta.
“Anies used to criticize Jokowi and Ahok who were only proud to be able to build physical facilities. Anies should not have joined Jokowi and Ahok who showed off Jakarta’s physical progress. Anies needed to show off Jakarta’s non-physical success. For example, about zero percent down payment on houses, about reclamation, about floods , and others,” he said.
Adi saw Anies often showing off the physical achievements of Jakarta’s progress towards the end of his term as Governor of DKI Jakarta. He considered it an effort by Anies to show his success in building Jakarta.
“Towards the end of his term of office, Anies has been busy showing off what he has done in Jakarta. Most of what is exhibited is physical, not non-physical. Of course that is part of Anies’ efforts to show the public that he has succeeded in building Jakarta,” he said.
