During a concert by metal band Tool in the Ziggo Dome, many fans were thrown out of the room because of dancing in the aisle or taking a photo. The American security guards are in charge and do not tolerate contradiction.
The American metal band Tool has been impressing with their epic music style for thirty years. Their latest album Fear Inoculum from 2019 was a long time coming, but was well received. Now they are touring the world with the accompanying Apocalypse tour, full of hypnotic visuals.
In order for this visual trip to fully penetrate to the concertgoer, everyone must remain seated. This feels rather unnatural for the metal fan. Who wants to stand, dance, jump to the music. In addition to the seat requirement, there is a photo and film ban. Anyone who does not comply with this ‘friendly and simple request’ will be ‘denied entry to the show without the possibility of a refund, it is posted everywhere.
And so many fans are taken from the aisle or plucked from their seats and evicted from the room. A Dutch attendant explains: “The Americans are now in charge here. They just threw out an old man who was WhatsApp in the front row. His ticket cost 450 euros.”
