JawaPos.com – Samsung launched the latest Galaxy A73 5G series in Indonesia in the middle of April. This series is the highest caste of the Galaxy A Series in Indonesia to date.
One of the main selling points brought by the successor to the Galaxy A72 is the main camera, which has a resolution of 108 MP, and is expected to be on par with a professional DSLR camera. With such a camera size, this is the first time a 108 MP camera is available on a mid-range Samsung phone through the Galaxy A line.

Familiar Design
The design of this smartphone is familiar with the latest line-up of Samsung’s A Series, as well as several other flagship series. In terms of looks, the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G looks like it still inherits its predecessor.
In the screen area, for example, this smartphone is still equipped with an infinity-O design screen with a punch hole as a home for a 32 MP (f/2.2) front camera. On the back, the Samsung A73 5G is also still similar to the Galaxy A72, there is a rectangular camera module.
The camera module which houses the four rear cameras arranged vertically and equipped with an LED flash is still similar to the previous A Series and S Series. At the edges, the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G comes with a body-colored bezel that has a choice of white, gray, and mint colors. On the right side, there are power and volume buttons ‘Up-Down’. The left side is plain, while at the top there is a SIM card slot and a MicroSD (hybrid slot).
At the bottom, there is a row of holes and ports. And, this time Samsung has officially removed the 3.5 mm audio jack plug from the Galaxy A73 5G. Because it has been removed, users can no longer connect earphones or wired headsets to this phone.
As an alternative, users can purchase a USB type C adapter to the 3.5 mm audio jack to continue enjoying audio content using earphones or a wired headset. Alternatively, users can switch to using a wireless headset or Bluetooth speaker.
Previously, the Galaxy A72 still had a 3.5 mm audio jack hole at the bottom of the phone body. Now, at the bottom of the Galaxy A73 5G there is only a speaker hole and a USB C port.
Regarding the appearance, feel or experience with the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G, it is actually the same as the other latest A Series. This A Series handset is more pleasing to the eye, as well as to grip. Thinner, slimmer, more comfortable to hold even though the Galaxy A73 5G this time has the largest screen with a stretch of 6.7 inches. Rush Performance
In terms of performance, the Galaxy A73 5G is arguably the best currently in the Galaxy A Series line. This can be achieved thanks to the support of the Snapdragon 778G chipset and 8 GB of RAM and the equivalent of internal storage reaching 256 GB.
The performance is rushed. Various kinds of user affairs on smartphones can be run very well, smoothly, and reliably. We also prove it by doing benchmark testing using a synthetic benchmark application.
The two applications we use are AnTuTu Benchmark v9.3.4 and PC Mark Work 3.0 Performance. In testing the AnTuTu benchmark application, it managed to score a score of 525064. Then, when benchmarked using PC Mark, the score was also quite large. The number recorded is 12301.
With these benchmark test scores, the Galaxy A73 5G is quite above average when compared to devices in the same class, or superior to the lineup in its series.
Playing heavy games? Can. Play light games, moreover. Very easy. When tested playing the Genshin Impact game, for example, this smartphone can use the highest setting of 30 or 60 FPS, although if forced there are some framedrop symptoms.

One of the highlights of this series is its camera which is equivalent to a high-end flagship. Regarding specifications, the main camera of the Samsung A73 5G is up in class because it is equipped with a 108 MP resolution lens. Previously, the Galaxy A72 was only equipped with a 64 MP main camera.
What makes this camera special is that this is the first time Samsung has embedded a 108 MP main camera in the Galaxy A series. Previously, this high-resolution camera was exclusively available on Samsung flagship phones, such as the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G, for example.
Not only the high resolution, the 108 main camera on the Galaxy A73 5G also brings a number of excellent features, such as Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Video Digital Image Stabilization (VDIS). These two features allow users to take sharp and stable photos and videos with the 108 MP main camera on the Galaxy A73 5G.
For video recording, the main camera of this phone supports up to UHD 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) at 30 fps. While in producing images, Samsung applies the “nona-binning” technique on the 108 MP camera on the Galaxy A73 5G.
The “nona-binning” technique works by combining nine pixels into one pixel using AI. This technology promises more detailed and bright images.
The 108 MP main camera is accompanied by three other cameras, namely a 12 MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2), a 5 MP depth sensor camera (f/2.4), and a 5 MP macro camera (f/2.4). While on the front, Samsung includes a 32 MP (f/2.2) camera for selfies and video calls.
The result, good. Various shooting scenarios using the Galaxy A73 5G did not disappoint even though on the ultra-wide camera, we felt that there were some image angles that were a bit blurry, lacking in focus.
Conclusion
Smartphones that are almost parallel to the flagship series offer quite a good experience. The large screen, fast and stable performance among the Galaxy A Series 2022 is enough to make this device worthy of consideration for entering the list of new smartphones that are suitable to try.
The thin and light design can also be the main reason this cellphone is chosen by upper middle class consumers in Indonesia. Plus the label as a product from Samsung which quite dominates this class.
