Again Rocked by Bubble Burst, Here’s a List of Startups Performing Mass Layoffs

Jakarta

Startup company or startup has become a hot topic of discussion in recent times. This is because several startups have laid off their employees on a large scale.

The recent layoffs at startups are said to have something to do with the bubble burst phenomenon that occurs at startups. As the name implies, the bubble burst can be said to be a phenomenon of economic growth which is marked by a very rapid increase in market value, especially in asset values. But also accompanied by a rapid decline.

Which startup companies have been laid off recently? Here’s the list.

LinkAja

Recently, PT Fintek Karya Nusantara (Finarya) or LinkAja has laid off hundreds of employees. This was done because the company’s policies made significant changes in business adjustments.

Head of Corporate Secretary Group LinkAja, Reka Sadewo said LinkAja as a startup company continues to make business adjustments to ensure healthy, positive and optimal company growth. The impact is a reorganization of Human Resources (HR) or employees.

“In response to this challenge, there will be some significant changes that will be made by LinkAja, especially with regard to the company’s business focus and goals. This will of course also affect several aspects of the company’s operations, one of which is the reorganization of human resources,” said Reka to detik.comTuesday (24/5/2022).

Zenius Education

Likewise, Zenius Education has laid off more than 200 employees. This is due to the business being undertaken is affected by the current economic conditions.

“After going through a comprehensive evaluation and review, Zenius announced that more than 200 of its employees had to leave Zenius,” said the management of this educational startup.

Fabelio

The phenomenon of startups laying off employees is nothing new. Long before that also happened in Fabelio. This startup in the furniture sector is reported to have forced dozens of employees to resign if they want their salaries to be met. Unfortunately, after deciding to leave, some of the workers’ rights have not been fulfilled.

The story was shared by one of the accounts on Twitter. Employees who have been successfully ‘forced’ to resign and have found new jobs are also not immediately paid their salaries.

“When asked back when the payment was made for those who had resigned first and the staff who were still active, the answer was yes as usual~ I’ll let you know the update later~ Lalala. Those who applied for resignation first before this day and got a new place of work will be put aside for paying their salaries. When asked what the reason was, they said “at least there is new income from the new company,” wrote the account @ta**ek*um quoted detik.comTuesday (14/12/2021).

“I’m just afraid that they will let go of the same responsibility as those who submitted their resignation first and in the end the promise is just a promise,” he added.
