After killing the Philippines U-23 4-0, the chairman of PSSI is confident that the U-23 Indonesian National Team can win the 2021 SEA Games Gold Medal: Okezone Bola

JAKARTA – General Chairperson (Ketum) of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan happy to see how well the National Team play (National Team) Indonesia U-23 who won 4-0 over the Philippines U-23 in the continued match of Group A men’s football at the SEA Games 2021, on Friday (13/5/2022) afternoon WIB. According to Iriawan, if the game can be maintained, then he is confident that Garuda Muda can bring home the 2021 SEA Games gold medal.

The victory of the U-23 Indonesian National Team over the Philippines U-23 started with Muhammad Ridwan in the 17th minute. Followed by Rizky Ridho Ramadhani (44), Egy Maulana Vikri (74), and Marselino Ferdinand (84).

The U-23 Indonesian national team still has one more match against Myanmar. Victory against Myanmar is equally important to qualify for the semifinals. In Group B, the competition is still tight between Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan said that the Indonesian U-23 national team played very well. He is also optimistic that the national team will be able to win the match against Myanmar.

“Thank God we can win big. 4-0. The game also keeps getting better. Cooperation also looks neat between players. Another one against Myanmar in the group stage which we have to win,” said Iriawan on PSSI’s official website, Friday (13/5/2022).

Iriawan then asked Shin Tae-yong to continue to maintain the performance of the players so they don’t slack off in the next matches. Because at the 2021 SEA Games, he is targeting a gold medal.

“I’m sure by looking at the performance earlier, we can beat Myanmar and make sure to qualify for the semifinals. I am optimistic that we can win a gold medal. Let’s help pray and support so that the players appear spartan and can beat all their opponents,” added Iriawan.

The final Group A match against Myanmar U-23 is confirmed to take place on Sunday 15 May 2022 at 16.00 WIB. The U-23 Indonesian national team only needs a draw to qualify for the 2021 SEA Games semifinals.
