The Ministry of Health registers this Wednesday 231 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, of which 93 correspond to Catalonia and 81 to Madrid. This means that 75% of those newly infected by the virus are concentrated in these two communities.
In total, 236,769 people have been infected in Spain since the crisis began, of which 3,007 have been diagnosed in the last seven days.
In the last seven days, 283 people have needed to be hospitalized for the infection and 13 have had to do so in the Intensive Care Unit. As for the number of deaths, in the last week 39 people have lost their lives, of the 27,118 total victims.
Death figures continue to be disrupted by changes in the series, according to the competent authorities, but they hope to resolve them as soon as possible. It is planned that this afternoon at 17:30, the director of the Center for Coordination of Alerts and Health Emergencies, Fernando Simón, will appear electronically to explain the evolution of the pandemic.
