If you subscribe to the People Push, you will no longer miss anything from the world of the rich, the beautiful and the people who are not entirely clear why they are actually famous.
That’s how it’s done: Install the latest version of the 20-minute app. On the home screen, tap the three strips at the top right, then tap the gear. At the bottom of «Themes», slide the bar on «People» to the right – it’s already going.
On Instagram the 20-minute people team is also on the go.
On the crowdfunding platform Gofundme.com, he tried to collect the equivalent of around CHF 48,000 in order to cover his employees’ wages for two weeks. He shared the call on his personal Twitter account and wrote: “I’m doing my best, but I have to close Joanne for a month.”
There is a lot of ridicule on Twitter
“Our great staff mainly consists of hourly workers who depend on our wages and mostly live from salary to salary,” says the restaurant’s Gofundme website.
And further: “100 percent of the donations go to the staff to ensure necessary things such as food, childcare and medical costs.”
However, his call for donations was not well received. Gaga’s father received a lot of ridicule and criticism for this, because: His daughter is one of the best-earning musicians, her assets are estimated at the equivalent of over 260 million francs. In addition, she is said to be part owner of the restaurant.
The father himself has millions
In addition, Joe Germanotta himself has a proud fortune; it is said to weigh between one and five million francs. The fact that he is addressing this call to people who are also likely to suffer the consequences of the pandemic, but who have neither a difficult daughter nor a million dollar cushion of money, causes misunderstanding.
Some Twitter users also bring into play that Germanotta is said to have donated several thousand dollars for President Donald Trump’s (73) re-election campaign. A tweet says, for example: “If you stopped donating to Donald Trump, you might be able to support your employees during this time.”There are more Twitter reactions in the picture section above.
Call for donations has been withdrawn
In the meantime, Germanotta has deleted both his tweet and his Gofundme page – only around CHF 500 had come in. He also told TV broadcaster Fox Business that he was not responsible for the tweet: “I don’t write my tweets for the restaurant myself.”
He further stated that the call for donations had now been deactivated and that the little money that had been donated would be returned to the donors if possible. If this was not possible, he would double the money and pay out to his staff.
He also knows his employees for eight years, says Germanotta: «They are almost like children to me now. I plan to pay them some kind of salary to keep them afloat. »
