He was used to such maneuvers at this point by other drivers, but not by the police. He has a dash cam with him because he spins many kilometers in his car. “You experience a lot there.”
Even further up in the Seetalplatz, he was still amazed at the driving behavior of the police. «I have seen from a distance that a passerby wants to cross a pedestrian crossing. The police in front of me simply ignored the man and drove across the strip. »His conclusion:« That makes me a bit ugly. If another driver had done this and the police had been watching him, he would have problems now. »
Police confirm fallible behavior
At the Lucerne police chief of communication Christian Bertschi confirms that the behavior is wrong. He said: «Drivers have to comply with the applicable traffic regulations. This also applies to the patrols of the Lucerne police. Exceptions are allowed for patrols if they are on an urgent business trip with flashing lights and / or with the horn switched on. This was not the case in the present case. In this respect, the driver of this patrol made a mistake when changing lanes by not blinking as required. »However, no further criminal offenses were recognizable on the video images.
«The traffic violation is fined»
The policeman in question is likely to face a fine because of the faulty behavior. Bertschi writes: “The Lucerne police maintain a transparent culture of errors internally. The traffic violation will be punished according to the penal provisions of the SVG. »
