The death toll rises after the attack on a primary school in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday.
So far, 18 children and three adults have been confirmed killed, the state’s senator Roland Gutierrez informs at 01.20 on Wednesday night Norwegian time.
It is the news agency Reuters that reports it, with reference to CNN. It is currently unclear whether the alleged perpetrator is part of the latest death toll.
The number is expected to rise further, according to the police, reports an ABC journalist Twitter. Hospitals have asked for blood donations to treat the injured.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott previously said the students killed were between seven and ten years old. They went to second, third and fourth grade at school.
“When parents deliver their children to school, they expect to know that they will be able to pick up the child when the day is over,” the governor said after the tragedy.

Abbott has identified the perpetrator as an 18-year-old from the small town.
The alleged perpetrator allegedly shot his grandmother before entering the school, according to both Governor Abbott and Senator Gutierrez. The latter told CNN that he had received information that the woman “still endures”.
The perpetrator is said to have used a handgun and probably a rifle, the governor stated during a press conference late Tuesday Norwegian time. He emphasizes that this information has so far been unconfirmed.
According to Senator Roland Gutierrez, the alleged perpetrator acquired rifles when he turned 18.
The chief of police in Uvalde, Pete Arredondo, confirms that the perpetrator is dead. He must have acted alone.
Uvalde is a small town of about 16,000 inhabitants, about 135 miles west of San Antonio, in the far south of Texas.
On Tuesday at 12.17 local time (19.17 Norwegian time) the authorities announced that shooting was taking place at the primary school Robb Elementary School.
The primary school has about 475 students. The rest of the school year should be cancelled.
A large number of police officers moved out, and all schools in the area were closed.
Two policemen are said to have been shot during the exchange with the perpetrator. They should not have significant damage.

A woman tells a local TV channel that her granddaughter was shot in the leg, but survived.

The perpetrator is said to have previously been a student at Uvalde High School.
