(CercleFinance.com) – According to the Commerce Department, housing starts practically stagnated (-0.2%) in seasonally adjusted data last month in the United States, at an annualized 1,724,000, below consensus.

The number of building permits for US housing, supposed to foreshadow future housing starts, meanwhile fell 3.2% to 1,819,000 in April, a level broadly in line with the average estimate of economists.
