Checks have already been carried out on players and staff from seven clubs. In the other three clubs, analyzes will be performed by Tuesday.

It has already been reported that three cases of infection have been detected in the administration of Jūrmala “Spartaka” club, but one – under the management of “Valmiera”.

At the same time, the judges, inspectors and delegates of the competition are being tested with the aim to perform 100% inspections of all tournament participants by the beginning of the eighth round.

In connection with the spread of Covid-19 due to health safety reasons, the football league game between the teams of Jūrmala “Spartaka” and “Liepāja” has been postponed indefinitely, as well as changes in the rules of attending games have been introduced.

For preventive safety reasons, the LFF has decided to introduce changes in the rules for attending all domestic football matches, limiting the number of spectators in future Super League matches.

The Super League Organizing Committee and the LFF Competition Organizing Committee have decided to continue the championships organized by the LFF in 2020 in accordance with the sanitary protocol of the competitions organized by the LFF.

From July 12, no more than 30% of the total seating area in the stadium area may be filled during all competitions organized by LFF, at the same time determining the maximum number of people in the stadium area – 250 people.

LFF emphasizes that this number of people does not include those who are considered to be participants in the competition – players, football club officials, referees, inspector, delegate and stadium staff.

LFF also invites all participants of LFF competitions – primarily game organizers (home teams) – to record and identify game visitors, receiving information about the names, surnames and contact numbers of all spectators, as well as informing them that the data will be transferred to LFF and Disease Prevention and Control. Control Center (SPKC).

“The decision to postpone Spartaka’s next match has been made to ensure maximum precautionary conditions in a club where three cases of illness have been identified in the club after full testing of its players and staff, and to take into account virus incubation and infectivity considerations,” LFF.

Although the sanitary protocol of the competition organized by LFF in such a situation allows the team to continue participating in the championship, isolating the relevant persons from the rest of the team, the decision to cancel the game with “Spartaka” takes into account the fact that the team was in a closed room (bus) with at least one patient. persons.

At the end of next week, before the team’s next championship game, the football players and staff are scheduled to be re-tested.

Club “Valmiera”, whose administrative employee has been diagnosed with an illness, does not need to postpone the next game, because the relevant person has not been in contact with the team representatives.

The rest of the club staff, athletes, service staff, stadium staff and other persons associated with Spartak have not shown any symptoms and all tests are negative.
