Children dressed in the same way go to school in different countries of the world, the uniform is especially popular in Great Britain and Japan. In Latvia, too, uniform style clothing is already available in 33 educational institutions. It is also planned for Sigulda State Gymnasium this year, but not everyone likes it, the program “Bez Tabu” reported.
The mother of a student of Sigulda State Gymnasium is not satisfied with the prices to be paid for the uniform that will be in the new school year.
“It was announced at the gymnasium that children should wear a school uniform everyday, on holidays and at the Olympics. It would not be crazy if the amount for the uniforms did not reach at least 160 euros! a survey of whether most parents agree, but it has not been! ” expresses a student ‘s mother.
Rūdolfs Kalvāns, the director of Sigulda State Gymnasium, confirms that this year the students of the gymnasium will have their own uniform or uniform, but it will be only for the 7th grade students. If you like it, next year it will be the same for 8th grade and then 9th grade students. This decision was made by the school council, which is also represented by the students’ parents.
Before choosing a company that would make uniforms, Sigulda State Gymnasium even conducted an extensive research and market research. A company has been chosen that also provides British schools with uniform style clothing, and the feedback is good. A full uniform is not required. The compulsory set for girls costs 57 euros, for boys – 47 euros. Other components of clothing are the free choice of parents and are not mandatory.
