You don’t need technology for common sense. If more people would use common sense, we would have a lot less problems on this globe.

But the reality, unfortunately, is that people are voluntarily exchanging their common sense for an increasingly pervasive automation. Any simple task that requires even a little bit of brainpower and that you used to turn your hand around is now preferably left to an app or algorithm, because we no longer trust our own mental capabilities. Remember a birthday? An appointment next week at the hairdresser’s? Keep a meter and a half away? Choosing a music that suits your mood? A simple calculation? Without digital assistance, most of them will no longer succeed.
