The Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) unveils its itinerant project FANTASTIQUE 20 20 20 which begins tomorrow in the legendary Midnight Film of Swiss Radio Television (RTS) and which will be rolled out throughout Switzerland in the fall. A true celebration of the evolution of the genre, this retrospective project invites you to (re) discover the works that have contributed to constitute the fantastic as the first cinematic genre. FANTASTIQUE 20 20 20 brings together the nuggets that have marked the recent history of imaginary cinematography, embodying the mission of revaluing the genre initiated by NIFFF over the past two decades.
Initially dematerialized on the RTS antenna and via streaming on the Spamflix platform, the program will continue in autumn in dark cinemas across Switzerland: the Cinémathèque suisse (Lausanne), Cinepel (Neuchâtel), Klub Kuleshov from ZHDK (Zürich), Cinéma CityClub (Pully), Altroquando Festival (Lugano), Cinérama Empire (Genève) and ABC (Chaux-de-Fonds) among others.
FIRST STOP: THE MIDNIGHT FILM (RTS)

FANTASTIC 20 20 20 settles down from May 15 to June 26 in weekly residence on RTS 1. Every Friday, the Midnight Film will be inhabited by the creatures and fantasies that have marked the festival audience. Crazy vampiric comedy WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (Jemaine Clement & Taika Waititi, NZ, 2014) in intense survival between punks GREEN ROOM (Jeremy Saulnier, US, 2015) via the Japanese adaptation of the mythical mangaKASANE – BEAUTY AND FATE (Yûichi Satô, JP, 2018) and the story of friendship between a zombie and a human carried by Daniel Radcliffe and Paul Dano – SWISS ARMY MAN (Dan Kwan & Daniel Scheinert, US, 2016) -, NIFFF invites itself into the living room of its spectators with a highly entertaining selection, coming from four continents, which testifies to the diversity of the genre.
FANTASTIC 20 20 20 IN THE LIGHTS AND INSTITUTIONS OF HELVETIC LIGHTHOUSES
As of fall, FANTASTIC 20 20 20 will be deployed in dark cinemas all over Switzerland until spring: the Swiss Cinematheque (Lausanne), Cinepel(Neuchâtel), the Klub Kuleshov from ZHDK (Zürich), the CityClub Cinema (Pully), Altroquando Festival (Lugano), the Cinérama Empire (Geneva) and theABC (Chaux-de-Fonds) among others. This unprecedented program will lead the public to the doors of its jubilee edition from July 2 to 10, 2021.
