“Even if we continue to follow somewhat cumbersome rules, we could simplify them after school by the end of June: during meals, recess or sport,” suggests Jean-François Delfraissy.
Thursday, Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer said he hoped that the health protocol could be relaxed “soon”.
Regarding the epidemic, which left nearly 30,000 dead in France, mainly among the elderly, “the situation is under control”, says Jean-François Delfraissy.
And in case of a second wave, “it will probably be necessary to let the Covid run in the young population and try to protect, with their agreement, the most fragile, sick, precarious, or elderly,” said the professor.

“We are proposing an Ehpad plan” and “also a plan for precarious populations: homeless, migrants, people living below the poverty line, fairly widely affected,” he said, recognizing that the confinement of the entire population applied to from mid-March “was not a good decision but the least bad”.
“The council would like to stop its work from the beginning of July,” said its chairman.
“The state services are fully operational. It is not healthy that a structure created from scratch to respond urgently continues,” he argues, adding that the Council could always meet again “if the health situation required it”.
