The Chicago marathon, “scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11, and race weekend activities have been canceled,” organizers said in a statement.
The decision not to celebrate the 43rd edition of this race, in which the participation of some 45,000 athletes was expected, was taken together with local authorities “in response to the public health concerns that the coronavirus pandemic has caused,” they said. .
