After 40 years … the hero of “Raya and Sakina” watches the play and recalls his memories

Special memories are carried by the play “Raya and Sakina”, which was starred by Shadia and Suheir Al-Babyloni, and was shown in the early eighties of the last century, and achieved great public success, which is still continuing until this moment.

Those memories that came back when a video clip of the Egyptian artist Naim Issa, one of the heroes of the play who presented the character “Uncle Jameel”, a German seller, gave a bill, as he watched it on the first day of Eid Al Fitr and danced to the song “Rumors” that was presented in the play.

That clip, which was filmed by his son Sami, and as soon as it was published on social networks, everyone recalled the memories of the play, and how those years passed and the Egyptian artist is still eager to continue the work.

In exclusive statements to Al-Arabiya.net, the Egyptian artist Naim Issa confirmed that he is always keen to watch the play at the times it is shown, and sometimes he receives calls from relatives and friends to tell him that the play is offered in order to see it.

He pointed out that the late producer Samir Khafagy, founder of United Artists, was the one who nominated him to participate in the play, and when he met director Hussein Kamal, the latter liked him because of his performance in rehearsals.

The Egyptian artist, who presented nearly 200 works of art throughout his history, explained that the rehearsals for the play took longer than usual, because it was the first theatrical experience of Shadia, so there was a desire from the makers of the play to give her confidence.

However, what Shadia did to impress them all, confirming that she presented more than what the play makers were waiting for from her, as he talked about her scenes with him, saying, “Shadia was my strong consolation … When she was saying something and she was silent, she said you were upset, Naim? .. Naeem recalled the memories of the funny scenes in the play, confirming that there were two scenes at noon by chance, as they were behind the scenes and was asking Shadia about her name, and she said, “I am butter and my sister Qishta”, so it was only an automatic response saying, “Receive the buffalo who left you,” so that the director express his admiration Eve and everyone laughs, so he asks him to say it at the show every night.

The scene of the fight of Suheir Al-Babli and his carrying of it, came by chance and was not planned, and when it happened and he received a positive reaction from the audience, the director asked him to repeat it on a daily basis.

Suffering from disregard

A long history presented by Naeem Issa and participated in several works, most notably the “beggar”, “Maina Fina Al Harami” and “Alwad Sayyid al-Shaghal”, but he nonetheless revealed that he suffers from being ignored by his colleagues, and that no one is communicating with him anymore.
