a train collides with a car stopped on the rails

A train and a car collided on Monday July 27 in the town of Prigonrieux, in Bergeracois (Dordogne).

The shock occurred around 5:30 p.m., at the level crossing located at the entrance to the village, Bergerac side. The vehicle was stationary on the track approaching the TER which was heading towards Bordeaux. The occupant of the car was not on board at the time of the impact.

The train was carrying 30 people (28 passengers and two staff) who were not injured. The train came to a stop around 100 meters from the point of impact.

The passengers took a bus at 7:30 p.m. to their destination. The accident severely disrupted traffic on the Bordeaux – Bergerac – Sarlat line. At 8:30 p.m., the damaged equipment was moving. Officers must also intervene in the evening on the level crossing.

Buses have been set up between Libourne (33) and the Perigord train stations. Trains should be able to run normally from Tuesday morning.
