7 new cases of Covid-19 were detected in Latvia last day, according to the information of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

During the last day, 1773 Covid-19 tests were performed in Latvia. 7 new cases were registered.

A total of 162,054 examinations were performed in Latvia, 1,141 persons became ill and 1,008 recovered and 30 died.

There are no inpatients with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. A total of five patients are treated in hospitals: 4 patients with moderate disease, one patient with severe disease.

A total of 181 patients were discharged from the hospital, according to the National Health Service (NSS).

SPKC calls for the use of Stop the Covid app, which allows people to be informed of the presence of an infected person if there was a risk of infection.

CONTEXT:

In Latvia on June 10 ended Emergency to declare the new coronavir announced on 12 March. The virus is still circulating and there is no medicine or vaccine for it. Certain restrictions still apply to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

Until the end of June, indoor events were allowed to gather not more than 100, but outdoors – not more than 300 people. From July 1000 people can gather outside for events; from August, this ceiling will be 3,000 people. Restrictions indoors depend on the size of the room. The two-meter distance is still valid.

Mouth and nose masks are no longer mandatory in public transport.
