The trap, the cold shower, the trap, there are many qualifiers to describe the feelings that cross the SIGmen and their supporters. 48 hours after its brilliant qualification for the final of the Coupe de France, SIG Strasbourg fell to Paris in the league (82-85).

For once, the “remontada” was Parisian. With only 9 players on the Ile-de-France bench and in particular without the former Strasbourg player Axel ToupaneParis found the resources to disrupt one of the teams in the shape of the hexagon and bring down the SIG in the final moments.
Despite the excellent performance of Jean-Baptiste Maille (11 points – 25 rating) and Leopold Cavaliere (16 points – 23 evaluation), the people of Strasbourg seemed physically blunted especially in the last quarter. The Alsatians have conceded 27 points in 10 minutes, 13 in the space of 120 seconds and leave precious points on the mat in the race for the play-offs.
The (very) bad operation
In the race on all counts, present in the top 8 since November, the situation is paradoxical on the side of the SIG: Strasbourg is not assured of its qualification for the final stages of the championship.
The fight promises to be fierce for the two remaining tickets allocated to the seventh and eighth places in the standings. However, three clubs are in the race to win them: Strasbourg (7th – 14-11), Pau-Lacq-Orthez (8th – 14-11) and Limoges (9th – 13-12). With a daunting schedule over the next month and still without two of their executives (John Roberson and Jaromir Bohacik), April promises to be crucial for Lassi Tuovi and his troops.
