[포토多이슈] The tragic scenes of a Korean Air plane leaving the runway of Cebu International Airport

A Korean Air plane deviated from the runway after landing at Mactan International Airport in Cebu, Philippines. According to Korean Air on the 24th, the KE631 airliner, which was supposed to leave Incheon International Airport around 19:20 the previous day and arrive at Cebu Mactan Airport, landed abnormally due to bad weather during landing.

In the photos posted on social media, etc., the airliner’s fuselage shows a lot of damage, so you can guess the crisis situation at that moment. Due to weather conditions such as thunder and lightning, the plane made an emergency landing after three landing attempts, but is said to have deviated from the runway.

There were 162 passengers and 11 crew members aboard the plane and no casualties have been reported so far. Parts of the aircraft’s wheels and fuselage were damaged.

In an apology on behalf of President Woo Ki-hong, Korean Air said: “Fortunately there were no casualties, but we apologize for causing concern to passengers and their families.” He continued: “We will do everything possible to correct the situation and we will do our best to accommodate passengers safely and comfortably without any inconvenience.”
