‘7 trillion won related to frozen funds’ perspective dominates

The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs has returned after visiting Iran, but our detained ship seldom shows signs of release.
Contrary to Iran’s official position, the view that it is ultimately linked to the money freeze issue is dominant, but it is difficult to find a solution.

Ten days have passed since our ship was captured in Iran.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong-gun visited Iran to negotiate multilaterally, but there was no tangible result.
Iran claims it is a purely technical issue related to environmental pollution, but does not provide evidence.
It is officially denied, but the dominant observation is that it was eventually linked to the frozen won funding problem.

Iran publicly complains about the frozen funds, but claims are mixed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it was originally proposed by Iran, while Iran said it was not necessary to buy an ambulance through frozen funds.
The Iranian side also complained that it was not receiving interest on the frozen funds, but it is known that it is actually being paid.
As the US sanctions have made Iran’s economic hardship worse recently, and the presidential election in June is approaching, it is analyzed that it is a propaganda to divert public attention.
The problem is that it is difficult to resolve US sanctions, which are the cause of the money freeze, with our will alone.
Therefore, there is concern that the detention of ships could be longer than expected.
Regarding the suspicion of environmental pollution on the ship, the Iranian side is known to have mentioned that it is possible to impose fines if the charges are proved, without explaining the specific method or duration of the judicial proceedings.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to try to lift the detention by conducting more frequent consular interviews with local sailors.
