Prime Minister Han Deok-soo left this afternoon for a 9-day, 7-night tour of three countries in Central and South America.
Prime Minister Han headed to Chile, the first country to visit, on the Air Force Unit 1 flight from Seoul airport at around 3.15pm.
It is the first visit by a South Korean leader to Chile since 2015, and Prime Minister Han visits Chilean President Gabriel Borich to discuss ways to collaborate on mineral resources.
Subsequently, Uruguay and Argentina will also visit in succession to meet the leaders of the two countries and ask for support for the candidacy for the Busan 2030 Expo.
On the way back, we plan to stop in Atlanta, US, to hold a meeting with companies that have entered the automotive and battery industries and share trends in response to the US inflation reduction law.
