Today, Sunday, the weather will be cloudy across the country and rain will occasionally fall in the southern region and Jeju Island.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the central region will be at the edge of a high pressure system moving east from northern China, and the southern region and Jeju Island will be cloudy due to the influence of a pressure trough passing over the sea south of Jeju Island.

It will rain occasionally in the Jeonnam and Gyeongnam areas from the afternoon to the night, and there may be places where raindrops of less than 0.1 mm fall in southern Jeollabuk-do and southern Gyeongbuk.

The expected precipitation for two days is 5 to 10 mm in Busan, the southern coast of Gyeongnam, Ulsan, inland Gyeongnam, Gwangju and Jeonnam (excluding the south coast), 10 to 40 mm in Jeju Island, and 10 to 60 mm in the east coast and mountains of Gangwon.

There will be gusty winds and thunder and lightning around the coast of Jeju Island, so be careful about safety accidents at sea.

Sea waves will rise to 0.5 to 1.5 m in the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea.

The wave height of the deep inner sea (the sea within about 200 km of the coastline) is predicted to be 0.5 to 2.0 m in the East Sea, 0.5 to 3.0 m in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.5 m in the South Sea.

Next week’s weather will be mostly cloudy on Monday and Tuesday, the early part of the week, but from Wednesday to Friday, there will be mostly clear days across the country due to the area of high pressure.

The lowest morning temperature next week is expected to be 5 to 17 degrees, and the highest daytime temperature is expected to be 13 to 23 degrees. For the time being, temperatures will be higher than normal (lowest 3 to 12 degrees, maximum 17 to 21 degrees).

The lowest morning temperature will range from 9 to 17 degrees, and the highest daytime temperature will range from 18 to 23 degrees.

The morning minimum temperature by major region is expected to be 14 degrees in Seoul, 12 degrees in Chuncheon, 13 degrees in Gangneung, 12 degrees in Daejeon, 12 degrees in Jeonju, 14 degrees in Gwangju, 13 degrees in Daegu, 16 degrees in Busan, and 21 degrees in Jeju.

The highest daytime temperature is expected to be 20 degrees in Seoul, 18 degrees in Chuncheon, 22 degrees in Gangneung, 20 degrees in Daejeon, 20 degrees in Jeonju, 20 degrees in Gwangju, 21 degrees in Daegu, 23 degrees in Busan, and 23 degrees in Jeju.

Fine dust concentration is expected to be good to average in all areas. However, the metropolitan area, Daejeon, Sejong, and South Chungcheong are expected to temporarily experience ‘bad’ levels at night.

Meanwhile, these days, when the daily temperature difference is more than 10 degrees, cold air and dryness persist, which increases the number of people suffering from respiratory diseases such as colds, flu, bronchitis, rhinitis, and asthma.

In particular, the risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or infectious diseases due to exposure to various viruses or bacteria increases.

For this reason, patients with chronic diseases, infants, young children, and the elderly must pay particular attention to personal hygiene and strengthening immunity. It is a good idea to pay attention to hygiene, such as washing your hands, and to wear a mask when going out to prevent cold air from entering.

In order to maintain humidity in the bronchi, indoor humidity must be maintained appropriately, such as by using a humidifier. The appropriate indoor humidity is 40% to 60% and the temperature is 18 to 22 degrees.

It is also helpful to frequently drink lukewarm or warm water. It is a good idea to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to protect your throat from dryness.

You should supplement your vitamins by eating fruits and vegetables and get enough sleep and rest.

Regular exercise maintains body temperature and activates basic metabolism, which helps strengthen immunity and prevents inflammation and pain. It would be a good idea to find an exercise that suits you, such as light running or bare-handed exercise, and stick to it for about 30 minutes a day.

Above all, if you have symptoms such as coughing, sore throat, or chest tightness, it is important to visit a nearby hospital and receive appropriate treatment.
