A total of 185 people, including prisoners, were confirmed as a corona19 group infection occurred in the eastern detention center in Seoul, where former President Lee Myung-bak is imprisoned.

Some of the confirmed cases of the Dongbu Detention Center have been confirmed to have been in court at the Seoul Northern District Court, and the contact is being investigated.

At the eastern detention center in Seoul, 17 people were diagnosed with Corona 19 from the 27th to the 16th of last month.

The detention center immediately conducted a full inspection.

A total of 185 people were confirmed as a result of testing over 2,400 prisoners and 425 employees.

There were 184 prisoners and 1 employee, but all were asymptomatic or mild.

Former President Lee Myung-bak is also reportedly being detained in the Eastern Detention Center and has received a negative test.

It was confirmed that the confirmed cases were mainly from the new admission building.

When entering the detention center for the first time, they are quarantined for two weeks, and if no symptoms of Corona 19 are confirmed, they are moved to the existing prison.

In the case of this group infection, it is estimated that asymptomatic confirmed patients admitted to the new admission building, leading to a large-scale group infection.

The Ministry of Justice has quarantined the confirmed cases and contacts at the Eastern Detention Center, and the quarantine authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation.

Along with this, it was confirmed that some of the confirmed patients at the Dongbu Detention Center had attended the Seoul Northern District Court from the 14th to the 18th.
