(Boseong = Yonhap News) Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it has supported medical expenses for 297 local residents this year as part of the ‘cataract surgery support project’, a pledge of the county governor.

A total of 110 million won in medical expenses was provided for the purpose of early detection of eye diseases in the elderly, and a total of 430 million won in medical expenses has been paid to 1,078 local residents so far.

This year, compared to last year, the number of applicants increased by 62.2% (185 → 297), and supported medical expenses also increased from 73 million won last year to 110 million won, securing an additional budget of 40 million won.

Since September of last year, Boseong-gun has relaxed the target of support from 120% of median income based on health insurance premiums to 150%, helping more residents receive benefits.

(Boseong = Yonhap News) Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that the Boseong-gun Association of Korean Fisheries Managers had deposited 756,000 won of the cockle auction proceeds from the Beolgyo Cockle Festival to Beolgyo-eup.

This is the profit collected from the ‘20th Beolgyo Cockle Festival Cockle Auction Event’ held from the 1st to the 3rd of this month.

The Boseong-gun Association, a Korean fisheries business operator, put up 20kg of white cockles, 40kg of new cockles, and 40kg of blood cockles for auction, and the cockles were sold for 756,000 won.

The auction proceeds are collected from selling Beolgyo cockles at a discount of more than 30% compared to the market price, and are donated to the Community Chest of Korea.

The purpose is to cultivate an innovative mindset, raise awareness of the concept and necessity of active administration, and establish an organizational culture that is not afraid of change.
