Two years ago, Sony released Link Buds. He was shocked. It was a design that made me wonder what on earth he was doing. When I first saw it, I didn’t know how to put it.

First, the exterior has been mildly changed. Link Buzz is I’m Cyber! It sounds like this, but Link Buds Open has a quiet and modern feel. The Link Buds didn’t appear to be a Sony product, but the open product was very matte and nicely finished, making it look very much like a Sony product.
As you can see, the main unit design has also changed a bit. At first it felt like a slightly crushed bun, but now it’s almost like a sphere. It feels like the wooden table has been transformed into a kettle bell. It is very cute.
And this part is not sure, but the donut part seems to have gotten a little smaller. It feels like it fits my ears better. My ear canals are small compared to the size of my face, so it usually hurts when I wear hard products like this. It didn’t hurt much this time. I forgot what I was wearing and just did that.
This bridge part is called the ventilator support, and it is a device that connects it to the ear. This design has also changed. At first, it was a bit difficult to connect supporters to Link Buds. It was difficult because there was a guide and it had to be wrapped around this edge. But this time, it just rotates the main unit in one shot.
Sound quality is as expected from Sony – I would like to say this. It’s not a thumping bass sound. But the sound is surprisingly warm and rich. I would say it’s like spring. In particular, background sounds in the low-mid range can be heard very well. If you listen to songs like GD’s POWER or Le Seraphim’s Smart. The little machines in the middle bounce around. I can hear these sounds very well. So although it is a small product, it produces a very rich sound. In particular, there is a guitar solo at the end of Silica Gel’s Tik, Tak, Tok. When I heard that, I thought I was in a concert hall.
Overall, the sound is full, rich, and warm. If you don’t like this and want to really listen to vocals or want a bass boost, you know how to change the equalizer, right? As expected from Sony, it provides a wide range of EQ. Customizing the sound you want is also made easier with multiple options.
But this is the sound I feel when it is quiet. When it’s loud, I’m confused as to whether I’m listening to music or the sound of a motorcycle being played. In fact, the sound is louder than the previous one. When it’s quiet, I wonder if they turned on the non-can. Even when it’s loud, the music still plays well in my ears.
There is a special listening method. There is something called the effect of background music. Yes this means that when you listen to music played in a cafe, it is coming from quite a distance away. I understood that effect and it helps improve concentration… I’m not sure. It is true that this sound feels like it is coming from far away. It comes from too far away. It feels like music is being played in an auditorium rather than a cafe.
The reason for the good sound quality is the codec and the chipset. These are Sony’s strengths. You can use Sony’s famous DSEE codec. The chipset uses the same V2 chipset as Sony’s flagship headphones, the WF-1000XM5.
You can also activate the Speak to Chat feature in the app. This will automatically turn off the music when you start a conversation with the person next to you. It is a product with the concept of being worn and used throughout the day, so it would be useful. I have no friends and I live alone, so I only used it when I was talking to myself. Don’t pity me.
And this time, the controls have been greatly improved. It is not easy to control such a small product with touch. Of course, it has touch control, but now it also provides face touch control. In my current settings, if I tap the left sidebar twice, it will play, and if I tap it three times, it will go to the next song. The right side is set to the previous song and the next song. This feature is customizable, so you can set it for things like turning on a voice assistant.
And there is one more face touch control. By quickly touching the side of your earpiece five times, you can set the left side to decrease the volume and the right side to turn the volume up. Great, right? I think it would be very useful when I exercise, but when I use it while just walking down the street, it makes me look like I haven’t washed my face.
This product is great for work and everyday life, and I found a great way to use it after wearing it all day. When singing together.
When you listen to music while wearing other products, your ears will be clogged and it is strange. However, this result is open. So my voice will be heard clearly. You can hear how I’m singing right now. So it was good to sing alone while you worked or played.
The price is very high. It costs 269,000 won, 40,000 won more than Link Buzz. It’s good, but I’m a little disappointed that they keep raising the price like this.

Everyone who wants to exercise safely, buy this. It is beautiful and small and can touch your face. It is perfect.
I just want to buy headphones with pierced ears. Don’t buy it. If that’s the only reason, buying Link Buds or bone conduction headphones might be a better option.
