Gaslighting is the ‘Word of the Year’ selected by the American Miriam Webster Dictionary in 2022. This is because “former President Donald Trump gaslighted the United States (spreading fake news of election fraud)” and is mainly used in politics and media, and the number of searches soared 17 times compared to the previous year.
It is widely known that the word gaslighting came from the play ‘Gaslight’, which premiered in 1938 (also made into a movie in 1944). The original meaning is ‘an act of making the victim dependent on the perpetrator by making the victim lose his judgment through long psychological manipulation’, but these days in the US political arena, lies for private benefit and fraud against the public are simply called gaslighting. I wonder if a book called ‘Gaslighting America’ has been published by collecting the fake news that Trump poured out.
● Trump and Lee Jae-myung are similar scapegoats?
“This is an era of violence in which judicial hunting under the guise of the rule of law, wearing the mask of the rule of law, is becoming a daily routine.” Lee Jae-myeong, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, voluntarily requested a press conference on the 23rd ahead of the National Assembly plenary vote on the motion for his arrest and criticized the Yoon Seok-yeol government. It is said that the victim of the judicial hunt is Lee Jae-myung himself.
He said, “I was defeated because I was lacking in the presidential election, and as a result, the humiliation and suffering that I personally had to endure is my share.” He seems to firmly believe that just because he lost the 2022 presidential election, he was charged with a crime that he should not have become a political opponent of the president.

I do not want to presume that those who answered incorrectly still support Lee Jae-myung. However, in order for democracy to function properly, so for our country to prosper, citizens (education/spirit) with accurate information are important. So I want to ask Lee Jae-myung. If you truly look up to heaven and have no shame, I hope you will have the arrest warrant dismissed by confidently repeating the sophistry you poured out in front of the people on the 23rd in front of the judge. And you will have to prove your innocence at trial.
If you don’t have the confidence to do that, please stop gaslighting the nation with your tongue. Even if you didn’t do municipal government farming when you were in Seongnam, the Democratic Party is not Lee Jae-myeong’s private party. Requisitioning the party leader’s time and energy from lawmakers and spending it on personal defense is stealing taxpayers’ money.
