[국제]Iranian Actress Arrested For ‘Refusing Hijab’… ‘Could Be Last Post’

A famous Iranian actress has been arrested after she posted a video on social media of her refusing to wear the hijab and participating in anti-government protests.

Actor Hengame Gaziani has been arrested for inciting and supporting the recent protests, AFP reported, citing Iran’s state news agency.

On the 19th, Gaziani posted a video on his Instagram account in which he stared at the camera without wearing a hijab on the streets of Tehran, then turned around and tied his hair back.

“This may be my last post,” he wrote, “whatever happens to me from now on, I will stand with the people of Iran until I die.”

In a post published last week, Gaziani also condemned the Iranian government as a “child killer” for leading more than 50 children to their deaths.

Eight people, including Gaziani, were arrested for making “provocative” posts on social media, according to the Iranian Justice Ministry website.

Famous actors like Mitra Hajar and Baran Khosari were also arrested along with Yahya Golmohammadi, the manager of Iran’s football team.

In Iran, anti-government protests have erupted across the country following the mysterious death of Mahsa Amini, 22, who was arrested in September for not wearing the hijab properly.

The Iranian government has labeled the anti-government protests as riots and has come under pressure.
