Last month, the number of employed was 273,000 fewer than a year ago.

The decline in the number of employed has continued for 9 consecutive months since last March, the longest decline since the 16th consecutive month of decline during the IMF financial crisis.

However, last month’s decline was less than in September and October.

The decline in the number of employed in all age groups except those aged 60 and over continued last month.

The number of employed has decreased by over 200,000 young people in their twenties due to the decline in new recruitment.

The decline in the number of employed decreased mainly in the face-to-face service industries such as lodging, food and wholesale and retail, while the decline in the manufacturing sector increased.

The number of employment in the manufacturing industry declined the most in 21 months.

As of November, the unemployment rate was the highest since November 2004, and the number of unemployed people increased by 100,000.

The employment situation is more likely to worsen as the effects of the re-proliferation of Corona 19 and the increase in distance are reflected in earnest after December.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki said he was concerned that the impact of employment due to the third spread of Corona 19 would appear in December and January next year.

The government has decided to put the top priority of economic policy on supporting the victims of the deteriorating job market.

So far, the Ministry of Economy has delivered it.
