Creative artists can breathe a sigh of relief: Air disinfection with Novaerus NanoStrike technology can contribute to safe gaming operations and can be financed through nationwide funding
November sichern

Falling seven-day incidences are causing cultural workers all over Germany to breathe a sigh of relief. The reopening of theaters, cinemas, concert halls & Co. is within reach – and with it the central question of how safe operation can be maintained in the long term. Since the coronavirus spreads via aerosols, among other things, clean air will play the main role in future hygiene concepts in addition to surface and hand disinfection. One solution is the treatment of the air with innovative, patented NanoStrike technology, which is the heart of the mobile air purification devices from Novaerus. NanoStrike destroys up to 99.99 percent of viruses in the air we breathe, including the virus that causes COVID-19. And: cultural workers can finance them with funds from the nationwide program “Neustart Kultur”.
Hygienically clean: cinema and theater halls as clean as an operating theater
The indoor air in theaters or cinemas can be up to five times more contaminated with microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses than the outdoor air (source: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency). In addition to disinfecting surfaces and hands, it is therefore essential that SARS-CoV-2 pathogens are removed from the air. The Novaerus models from WellAir – one of the leading providers of solutions for infection control – extract pollutants from the air, destroy them and thus ensure that the risk of infection is significantly reduced. The mobile devices are already used in operating theaters in many hospitals around the world and can now also ensure clean air in cultural institutions. With high effectiveness and low operating costs, the low-noise Novaerus plug-and-play solutions are suitable for infection protection and the maintenance of air quality in medium-sized interiors such as theaters or cinemas.
“High quality air purification, such as that offered by NanoStrike technology, could enable a return to normalcy. This is good news for thousands of cultural workers in Germany,” says Kieran McBrien, Senior Vice-President, International Business Development at Novaerus.
Deadline is getting closer: secure funding for air purifiers by the end of September
What many do not know: Air purifiers with NanoStrike technology and other health protection measures can be financed with federal subsidies.
The Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media is making a total of two billion euros available within the framework of the “Neustart Kultur” program, with which, among other things, “additional demand for pandemic-related investments” is to be made possible. Specifically, throughout Germany for cultural institutions that are not primarily financed by the public purse, subsidies for renovation measures in cash registers or sanitary areas, but also the installation or retrofitting of ventilation systems are planned. The money can also be used to equip the premises with air cleaning systems with NanoStrike technology.
Applications for funding are possible until September 30th, 2021 for cinema & film and until November 30th for theater.
