A 74-year-old cyclist whom a witness saw driving on the cycle path along the B 31 from Überlingen in the direction of Ludwigshafen was visibly drunk. When the man fell, the witness stopped to check on him and called the police. After an alcohol test carried out afterwards showed a value of over 1.7 per thousand, the officials arranged for a doctor to take a blood sample in the hospital.
