Heilbronn: Main checks to ensure compliance with the mask-wearing obligation were received positively by the population
“Obviously, there was a great uncertainty among many people that the obligation to wear mouth and nose protection also applies to the systems of local public transport and not only in the means of transport”, summarized the chief police officer Jens Blessing of the control day of the Heilbronn police headquarters.
On Wednesday afternoon, between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., the Heilbronn police headquarters deployed around 70 people to check that masks must be worn in local public transport throughout the entire presidium area. The main control points were the urban railways S 4 (Öhringen – Eppingen), S 41 / S 42 (Heilbronn – Bad Rappenau) and connections of the regional railways between Heilbronn, Mannheim, Würzburg and Schwäbisch-Hall. In addition, checks were primarily carried out on rail and bus lines, especially at their stops, in all districts of the Presidium’s area.
The police officers consistently pursued compliance with the mask requirement. In the means of transport, the obligation to carry was largely complied with by the passengers. Most of the people who had not worn their mask or not worn it properly showed themselves to be understanding and then put their mask on correctly. 39 inconsiderate people were reported. A total of over 2000 people were checked.
The Heilbronn police headquarters had announced the control measures in advance, both with a press release and on social media. There will be further control measures in the next few weeks.
