In the night to Sunday, police forces carried out a large-scale focus check on the arrival and departure traffic of the “Index” discotheque. Officials from the Police Inspection Emsland / Grafschaft Bentheim, the Police Directorate Osnabrück, the “Cross-Border Police Team” (GPT) and the Riot Police Oldenburg had to initiate more than 40 criminal and administrative offense proceedings between 11.30 p.m. and 8 a.m. Blood samples were taken from twelve drivers, two driver’s licenses were secured and two foreign road users were only allowed to continue on their way after a security deposit had been provided.
