The Frankfurt municipal elections will take place next Sunday, March 14, 2021. For Herbert Förster, the second term of office as city councilor for the pirate party Frankurt am Main comes to an end. He would like to continue his work for more transparency and citizen participation and his work in numerous committees such as the Main and Finance Committee and the Committee for Planning, Building and Housing in another term of office.

The election campaign goal for this year is clear: With good topics in the local election program, there should be support from the ranks of the party after the election. With Pawel Borodan (2nd place on the list) and Sebastian Alscher (3rd place on the list), he should receive support in the future. The goal of the Frankfurt PIRATES is to implement the vision of a livable and sustainable city in the city parliament over the next 5 years, because it is “Your Frankfurt. Your future”. Therefore, the following topics are on the agenda:

- Digitales Frankfurt
- Transparentes Frankfurt statt gläserner Bürgerinnen und Bürger
- Klimaschutz in Frankfurt - Globale Verantwortung vor Ort
- Mobiles Frankfurt
- Wohnen in Frankfurt
- Drogen - Prävention und Verbraucherschutz statt Prohibition
- Bildung und Kultur in Frankfurt
- Frankfurt übernimmt Verantwortung für die koloniale Vergangenheit [1]

Those who have not yet voted by postal vote will hopefully make their crosses at the polling station, because the local election is the most democratic of all elections in Germany. There is no 5% hurdle, as in the state or federal elections. All parties thus have a chance to participate in the democratic process in the city parliament. Cumulating and spreading enables voters to choose their preferred parties or specific individuals, which enables a high degree of diversity to be achieved. Every vote counts!

“We have been represented by Herbert Förster in the Frankfurt city council for almost 10 years now. Now is the time! Frankfurt needs more PIRATES in the city parliament in order to successfully reverse the trend in digitization and create a liveable city for all citizens. Every vote for the Frankfurt PIRATES is a vote for your future in a modern Frankfurt! “, Says Martina Scharmann, chairwoman of the Frankfurt am Main district association of the Pirate Party.
