On Saturday afternoon (July 31), a 26-year-old verbally molested a 31-year-old woman at Munich’s Ostbahnhof. When she asked him not to, he hit her. Travelers present intervened and notified the police. The Iraqi woman from Munich was in front of a café at Munich Ostbahnhof at 2:50 p.m. when the man from Eritrea verbally harassed her and had his hand in his pants on the genital area. When the woman made it clear to him that he should refrain from his behavior and move away, he hit her several times in the face with his fist and showered her with beer. He also pulled her hair, then pushed her to the ground. The woman’s phone was damaged in the fall. A 30-year-old Pole and a 36-year-old German came to the aid of the woman and stood between her and the attacker. They also notified the federal police, which provisionally arrested the man who lived in Grafing. After a blood sample ordered by the public prosecutor’s office, he was released again.
The woman suffered minor injuries from the attack. The mobile phone was damaged in the form of a display crack.
The federal police are now investigating the 26-year-old for bodily harm and property damage.
