ZZS proposes action to call for cessation of military activities between Israel and Gaza – World

The Saeima faction of the Greens and Farmers Union (ZZS) calls on the deputies of the 13th Saeima to agree on a joint statement of the Saeima, in which the parliament would call for the suspension of any military activities in the Israeli-Gaza conflict, which results in civilian casualties.

According to the representative of the political force Dace Kārkliņa, ZZS calls on the relevant draft statement of the Saeima to be developed by the Foreign Affairs Committee in order to be forwarded for discussion and adoption in the parliament.

The Alliance believes that the international community must mobilize all efforts to prevent further armed attacks and halt the loss of civilian life.

The ZZS condemns all forms of violence and calls for the conflict to be resolved through military rather than military means.

It was reported that by the evening of May 13, a total of 110 people had died in the conflict, according to information provided by the parties.

The number of Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip in the past four days has exceeded 103, including 27 children and 11 women, but 580 people were injured, the Gaza Strip Ministry of Health said on Thursday.

In Israel, seven people have been killed in a rocket fire from the Gaza Strip since Monday, including a six-year-old child who was killed when a rocket hit a family home.

The Israeli army had said earlier Thursday that its “jet fighters had struck a military complex at Hamas’ terrorist intelligence headquarters.” “Dozens of Hamas operatives were in the complex at the time of the crash,” the statement said.

Later in the day, dozens of rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip at the southern Israeli coastal cities of Ashdod and Ashkelon, as well as the Bengurioni airport in the middle of the country.
