Seventeen-year-old Anna from a small town in Southern Germany meets Philip from East Berlin on a youth exchange trip. It’s love at first sight for both of them. But is it possible to build a relationship if there is a wall between the lovers? Once, while visiting East Berlin, Anna misses her trip home and is banned from entering the German Democratic Republic. This further prompts Philip to plan an escape to the West, but is discovered by the secret police and sentenced to a long prison term. Three years later, Anna learns about the fall of the Berlin Wall. Philip comes to her unexpectedly. Anna is faced with a dilemma: to give in to the incited feelings or to stay with her schoolmate Lorenz, with whom she has started a new life in the meantime?
