Now the hosts of this match are threatened with high penalties, and it is quite likely that the match will end in a forfeit. This practically takes away the team’s chance to advance to the playoffs. Therefore, at the end of the season, Włókniarz will probably be left without play-offs and without the legendary coach.
Especially for us, coach Marek Cieślak agreed to comment on the whole situation. However, I do not want to talk about the details.
– From Monday, it was not me who prepared the track, but the track master and the president, who boasted about the enormity of work in social media. I regret what happened because Włókniarz is my club with which I have been associated since I was 16. I want to scream because now I may have to work abroad again or quit my coach job at all. I gave my notice of termination on Friday at 8am because I couldn’t take responsibility for the track I didn’t prepare. It was a deliberate decision, and some knew about it already on Thursday. It hurts me that through Włókniarz we have witnessed the anti-advertising of speedway – said Włókniarz’s coach, Marek Cieślak, after the match.
It is worth adding that Cieślak is one of the best track preparation specialists in Poland, and perhaps in the world. Such an experienced coach must have known that carrying out works on such a large scale, four days before the most important game of the season, had to end in a disaster. For this reason, he was not involved in the work from the very beginning.
