Further milestones formulated
Zurich Invest AG is consistently pursuing its path towards climate neutrality. After reducing CO2 emissions by more than 20 percent since 2010, it has now defined further milestones for achieving climate neutrality by 2050:
- A further reduction in CO2 emissions by an additional 20 percent by 2025 is planned for the real estate investment groups of the Zurich Investment Foundation.
- In the real estate fund ZIF Immobilien Direkt Schweiz, emissions are to be reduced by 30 percent by 2030.

Concrete measures towards the Net Zero goal
A clearly defined package of measures was put together to achieve the climate targets.
- Optimizing the operation of heating systems is just one example of how quick and short-term success can be achieved.
- In the medium and long term, the energy efficiency and CO2 reduction goals will be achieved through the construction of new properties and the renovation of existing buildings in accordance with Minergie specifications.
- These measures are combined with the use of renewable energies as a substitute for fossil fuels.
Zurich Invest AG is working to implement its climate goals at all levels: transactions, asset management and renovations/new builds.
Project Kleeweid in Zurich Leimbach
An example of a successful project is the Kleeweid development in Zurich Leimbach, which was replaced by a modern new building. The four apartment buildings with 129 apartments were built according to the Minergie-P standard and have been awarded the LEED Gold energy label.
