Zurich: Guesswork on TV broadcasting of Bayern games at Club World Cup

Zürich –

The TV broadcasts of the Club World Cup with Champions League winners FC Bayern Munich are not even cleared three months before the tournament.

The world football association FIFA has left questions about media rights for the German market unanswered for more than two weeks. Several TV channels such as ARD, ZDF and RTL said they would not broadcast the tournament.

Due to the corona pandemic, FIFA had postponed the tournament in Qatar originally planned for December by two months. The Club World Cup with the winners of the continental associations will be played from February 1st to 11th.

The German record champions FC Bayern are set as Champions League winners for the semi-finals and could win their sixth title within a few months. Last year, Liverpool FC won the Club World Cup with coach Jürgen Klopp. At that time, DAZN broadcast the games, but the streaming service claims that it has no rights for the games in February.
