Zurich: Director of the luxury hotels Widder and Storchen has lost his job

The board of directors of the luxury hotel group “The Living Circle” has terminated the employment relationship with Jörg Arnold, the general director of the 5-star hotels Widder, Storchen and Alex Lake Zurich with immediate effect. This is shown by research of 20 minutes. Jürg Schmid, President of the Board of Directors of “The Living Circle” confirms: “The Board of Directors has terminated the employment relationship with Jörg Arnold by mutual consent. The reason lies in the different views of the management.”

Jörg Arnold, who also sits on the board of directors of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), managed the fortunes of the luxury hotels for many years. He headed the Hotel Storchen for around 20 years and was also a member of the board of Zurich Tourism and Switzerland Tourism for many years. According to media reports, he should move up to the management of “The Living Circle” in 2023 – as head of operations north and deputy CEO. When asked by 20 minutes, Arnold himself announced that he would not comment on the matter.

The group “The Living Circle” unites several luxury hotels under one roof, including the 5-star Hotel Castello del Sole in Ascona TI, the Restaurant Buech in Herrliberg ZH and the Schlattgut farm in Herrliberg, the Terreni alla Maggia in Ascona and the Château de Raymontpierre in Vermes JU. The company is also a partner of the Caminada Group.
