Mark Zuckerberg sold shares of his company Meta Platfroms Inc. for the first time since November 2022 as their stock prices rose, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In November, various Zuckerberg-linked entities sold nearly 682,000 Meta shares worth about $185 million.
Meta’s market value soared 172% from the beginning of the year to the end of November, a record pace among the largest US IT companies, with the exception of only Nvidia Corp. The share price is approaching the all-time high recorded in 2021.
Zuckerberg still owns about 13% of Meta. His fortune is estimated at $117.7 billion.
The businessman and his wife Priscilla Chan previously promised to give 99% of their funds to charity. The charities they founded promote equality, fight disease, biomedicine, affordable housing and other initiatives.
