Presentation Zoom on the Bresse Jura Foot

The FCSM will start in the Coupe de France version 2021/2022 against Bresse Jura Foot, resident of Regional 2. An unprecedented confrontation, in a Sports Park in Bram which is however not unknown for the FCSM. Presentation.

Last Saturday, the Bresse Jura Foot won on the lawn of the Triangle d’Or Jura as part of the 7th day of group C of Regional 2. A success which allows the BJF players to occupy the 6th place of their team. championship with four wins and two losses on the clock.

Saturday is a whole different competition that the Jurassians will find. After five qualifications, in a campaign that began on August 29 with an easy 7-0 success against FC Petite Montagne and which saw him win in the 6th round against Jura Lacs (2-1) on October 30, the Bresse Jura Foot will face a Ligue 2 club for the first time in its history.

Born from the merger of two clubs in 2003

Bresse Jura Foot (not to be confused with Jura Dolois Football that the Sochaux reserve regularly crosses), was born from USS Bletterans and US Commenailles (two nearby towns) in 2003. Two clubs that have never crossed paths with the route of the FCSM in an official match.

If no Bresse Jura Foot player has played in the FCSM or in its youth teams (the reverse is also true), the Jura club has in its ranks an element that knows the professional world well. Johann Chapuis, general coach of Bresse Jura Foot since 2018, has played in Ligue 2 with AS Nancy Lorraine, Chamois Niortais or Stade Lavallois.

A first in 24 years for the FCSM

Bresse Jura Foot plays in Regional 2, the seventh level in French football. A level to which the FCSM has not rubbed for a very long time. Since 1997, the Sochaux club have faced six times opponents playing at the sixth level (which was then called the Honorary Division), the last time being FC Limonest in 2014.

To find traces of a match against a team playing one or more lower divisions, we have to go back to 1997. In the 8th round of the Coupe de France, FC Sochaux-Montbéliard had won 4-0 against L ‘US Mont-Blanc Passy Saint-Gervais who was playing in “Promotion de Ligue”.

Not a first at the Parc des Sports de Bram

The BJF will not play in its Jean Perrodin Stadium in Bletterans this Saturday and will relocate to the Bram de Louhans Sports Park, 25 km further south.

The first team of the FCSM has evolved five times at the Parc des Sports de Bram in its history against CS Louhans-Cuiseaux. With a record of two victories, a draw and two defeats in matches played from 1987 to 1999 in the Second Division.

The enclosure of the Bressan club even set its attendance record on October 24, 1987 (8,740 spectators) during a D2 match won by the FCSM.

The reserve also played against the first team of a club that became Louhans-Cuiseaux FC. This took place for the last time at the Parc des Sports de Bram in October 2018. The Sochaliens then led by Omar Daf lost 2-1 in National 3 despite a goal signed by Rassoul Ndiaye …
