According to a spokesperson, the park received a lot of questions from people who wanted to give the zoo financial support. The Emmen council came up with this idea. “Sympathetic and accessible,” says the park management. Adopting an animal costs between 72 and 480 euros per year.
Care and maintenance
Half of the money will be used for the care of the animals and the maintenance of the enclosures, the other half will go to three projects for the protection of endangered species of the Wildlands Nature and Education Fund.
The first to receive an adoption certificate was alderman Jisse Otter, who adopted a dwarf gotter.
