The financing is divided into 2 phases: the preparatory phase and the development phase.
Phase 1: Preparatory phase
In the case of a technological development, attention is paid in this phase to developing a PoC. This applies to drug developments in vitro PoC. This phase is also intended for setting up the necessary infrastructure, intellectual property and business plan.
Phase 2: Development phase
If there is already a PoC for the therapy, protected intellectual property and an established corporate structure, you may be eligible for financing for the development phase. The main applicant must demonstrably have ownership of the intellectual property of the therapy to be developed.
ZonMw would also like to finance follow-up phases of therapy development, in order to complete the bridge to the market. Awarded projects will be informed during the term of the project about the required milestones to qualify for this follow-up financing.
