tvWednesday evening the first recording of the new season of the One music program ‘Zomerhit’ took place in Blankenberge. Siska Schoeters and Niels Destadsbader make sure everything runs smoothly on stage, but behind the scenes Zita Wauters talks to the artists who come by for the social media platforms of the VRT. And for her baptism of fire, she was immediately allowed to push her microphone under dad Koen’s nose.
Koen Wauters came to sing the song ‘Anne’ with Clouseau, which won the Radio2 Zomerhit in 1989. “I feel that our Zita is very comfortable,” says Koen. “She is calm enough to ask fun and easy questions. It certainly won’t be her tongue (smile). Moreover, she is not easily impressed by people. Yes, I am a proud father when I see her walking around here. Although we don’t always see each other. She does her thing, I do mine. Zita hates being the daughter of all too often. She is already being looked at extra by that, the bar is then exactly higher while she has to learn and discover everything step by step.”

Hooverphonic with Geike Arnaert, Alex Callier and Raymond Geerts. The men wore sweatpants. “We don’t have to change to go to sleep after our performance and we can go jogging in the morning,” they joke.

“I am very surprised that I was nominated for the Radio 2 Zomerhit, but I would have also awarded it to K3,” said Lissa Lewis, who responds to the commotion for the first time. Many do not understand why she has a chance to win that title and K3 does not. “I don’t take it personally. And no, I have not received any bad messages from K3 fans.” Another nice detail: she went shopping for her outfit at Véronique De Kock.
